OceanTech Club

A free, no-commitment, drop-in club at Dalhousie where students from any discipline can build remotely operated vehicles, autonomous underwater vehicles, and ocean sensors.

This program welcomes students from any discipline, in any year of post-secondary studies in Nova Scotia.

What Can You Build?

  • Basic Remote Operated Vehicle

  • Advanced Remote Operated Vehicle

  • Autonomous Underwater Vehicle

  • Conductivity, Temperature and Depth Sensor (CTD)

What Can You Learn?

  • Basic technical and systems integration skills. 

  • Hands-on mechanical assembly and prototyping experience. 

  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting in real-world contexts. 

  • Experience with oceanographic sensors and instrumentation, including CTDs and temperature sensors. 

  • Adaptation and modification of existing technological systems such as ROV models.
