Science Outreach Ambassadors Program
The Science Outreach Ambassadors Program is an eight-month volunteer initiative designed for upper level undergraduate and graduate students at Dalhousie interested in science outreach, mentorship, and community engagement.
Offered in collaboration with SURGE Science Sandbox and the Mentorship and Academic Program (MAP).
Science Outreach Ambassadors are leaders, mentors, and facilitators, supporting the delivery of science-based educational events and building confidence as educators and ambassadors for science. Science Outreach Ambassadors will primarily deliver outreach activities within the focus of Neuroscience.
What do Science Outreach Ambassadors do?
Lead workshops, lab tours, and mentorship events (including neuroscience) for high school and university students primarily in neurosciences
Co-facilitate outreach events, student transition programming, and other educational initiatives
Build skills in leadership, public speaking, and science communication
Third/fourth year undergraduate or master's students
Volunteer 15 hours minimum per semester
Commit to both fall and winter semesters
